Allergens & food safety
The honest version, because this is the page where being vague could actually hurt someone.
One kitchen, shared equipment
Everything is made by one person in one residential kitchen. That kitchen regularly handles wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, peanuts, soy and sesame. Equipment and surfaces are shared between batches. This means I cannot guarantee any item is free from traces of an allergen, even when that allergen isn't an ingredient.
If your allergy is serious
Please talk to me before you order rather than relying on this page. Email info@booksbakery.com and tell me what you’re dealing with. I would much rather turn an order down than take a risk with someone’s health.
Ingredients
Most if not all products are made with sugar, dairy, flour, eggs, extracts, and salt. Some contain nuts, oil, cinnamon, and chocolate.
Licensing
By the Book Bakery bakes from a dedicated residential kitchen under the Colorado Cottage Food Law.
Storage and how long things keep
Our cookies are individually wrapped and heat sealed. Most will last over 10 days; however, we think it is best to freeze them if they will not be consumed the week you receive them. Frozen they will last well over 2 months!
